NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Through a generous $500,000 matching gift from John Ingram, the Anchor Impact Fund has the opportunity to raise $1 million to help provide opportunities for Vanderbilt student-athletes to benefit charitable organizations in the Middle Tennessee community.
“The Anchor Impact Fund, which uses the collective power of Vanderbilt student-athletes, alumni, supporters and the Nashville community to aid student-athletes as they pursue excellence on and off the field, fully aligns with so many of my personal values,” Ingram said. “I am proud to contribute to these efforts through a model that creates opportunities to support our community in so many ways. Vanderbilt student-athletes are extraordinary young people, and it is important to support them. I hope that this gift will serve as a catalyst for others to rally behind the Anchor Impact Fund and its transformational efforts. Each one of us can have a direct impact on our community and Vanderbilt student-athletes.”
Ingram’s gift includes a matching component designed to highlight the Anchor Impact Fund’s initiatives and inspire others to give.
“We are incredibly humbled and extremely grateful to John for this gift,” said D’Juan Epps, executive director of the Anchor Impact Fund. “With the support of John and many others, we will help create so many life-changing opportunities — not only for Vanderbilt student-athletes, but for countless Middle Tennessee community members through our civic partnerships.”
Ingram has been an unwavering advocate for growth and opportunity through athletics at Vanderbilt and in the Middle Tennessee community. The longtime Commodore supporter and Board of Trust member recently helped create the Ingram Center for Student-Athlete Success, an initiative that represents a restructured approach to how Vanderbilt Athletics will support academic, personal and career development.
The Anchor Impact Fund is a Tennessee 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation formed to promote community engagement and strengthen local charitable organizations and initiatives. Founded in the belief that there is a different and more impactful way for Vanderbilt student-athletes to participate in the name, image and likeness landscape, the Anchor Impact Fund allows a student-athlete to help charitable organizations in Middle Tennessee while navigating and maximizing their NIL potential. It is a key resource for more than 350 Commodore student-athletes. More importantly, these activities will foster deep and meaningful relationships among Vanderbilt student-athletes, the organizations with which they are involved, and the Middle Tennessee community.
